10 Things You Should Know About Hustling During the Pandemic
I was recently asked, “How do you continue to hustle so hard during the pandemic?" The question took me by surprise since, as a creative entrepreneur, some days I don’t feel like I’m hustling at all. I know you’ve been there. The truth is, I have to hustle to make an income. Where my entrepreneurs at?! I see you. I feel you. I am you. So, let me help you out.
Here are 10 things you should know about hustling during a pandemic.
Mental health is as important as physical health. Take care of your brain and listen to your body.
Find a schedule that works for you. My most productive hours are 2-8pm— sometimes later if I’m on a creative streak. It’s weird but it works.
Power naps are super helpful. Set your alarm for 30 minutes and get up when it goes off. Even if you don’t sleep, you’ll be surprised at how well rested you feel.
Don’t think too much. When an idea comes to you, roll with it.
Therapy is key. Go weekly if you can!
Find a creative hobby that allows you to be present. Paint by numbers are my JAM and there are a ton of intricate designs to choose from on Amazon.
FaceTime people you love, like, a lot. In the early days of the pandemic, I literally scheduled weekly calls with our friends and family and stuck to the routine.
Spruce up your home. We found a way to redecorate on a low-budget to make us feel as comfy as possible in our teeny NYC apartment.
Move. Throughout the work day and after. As much as you don’t want to, you’ll never regret it.
Take a day if you need one. This shit is STRESSFUL on the mind, body, and soul. It’s absolutely okay to lay in bed all day. Just don’t make it a habit…
